With summer quickly approaching and bikini season within sight, it might be time to bounce back to your typical exercise routine. Slacking off a bit is nothing to be ashamed about, but you need to know when it is time to get back on your workout grind.

Here are 7 tips for getting back to your exercise routine:

1. Make it a Lifestyle Choice
The easiest way to get back to your exercise routine is to start making health a priority. This doesn’t just mean that you eat correctly, but you also put in the effort at the gym. No matter what type of exercise you enjoy performing, you have to make it a regular part of your week. Set aside time in your schedule dedicated to your exercise.

2. Every Little Bit Counts
You might be one of the many women that doesn’t like to spend time in a smelly gym. You don’t have to spend an hour on the treadmill to get in a great workout. You can bike on the weekends or run in the mornings. Exercise can be fun if you choose the right activities.

3. Don’t Overdo It
You will burn yourself out quick if you overdo it in the beginning. This means that you shouldn’t just jump back into a hardcore exercise routine. Instead of going all out right from the start, you should try easing your way back into your workout regimen. Starting small and working your way back to where you once were is the best way to keep yourself motivated and not overwhelmed.

4. Be Realistic
You need to be realistic with your exercise goals. You might not have enough time between work and your social life to work out 6 times a week. Try switching up your exercise routine to fit your busy schedule. This will keep you from slacking off in the future.

5. Get some workout buddies
Having some of your closest friends with you when you exercise can make it more fun and keep you honest about your workout regimen. Your friends will make sure that you are sweating right beside them.

6. Reward Yourself
Setting goals for yourself and rewarding your achievements can be a great motivator and help you bounce right back into your exercise routine. Maybe buy yourself that gorgeous bag you have been eyeing after not missing a workout for a few months.

7. Have Fun
The only way that you will be able to jump back into your exercise routine is if you have fun when working out. Of course running on the treadmill doesn’t excite you, but joining a new challenge does, then don’t hold yourself back.
